Hard Water
Hard water is one of the most common problems with drinking water and well water. It is most commonly treated with a water softening system.

Low pH
Low pH in your water can have health effect as well as cause damage to your plumbing.

Iron
Though low levels of iron in water are generally not detrimental to health, they can cause problems with staining, clogging, odors, and taste. High iron content may also be an indicator of low pH.

Manganese
Manganese is a corrosive, and at elevated levels can cause oders, metallic tastes, and corrode metal-based plumbing systems.

Arsenic
Arsenic in drinking water is almost impossible to detect without laboratory testing. The health effects can be potentially dangerous depending upon the levels involved.

Lead
Any lead in water is dangerous, but the level where action is required is generally set at 0.015 mg/L. Several technologies that treat drinking water in the home have been proven to significantly reduce lead, in addition to reducing other contaminants as well.
